I am in the market to replace my exhaust manifolds and get some headers. The bolts are rusted to almost next to nothing, and the flanges are cracked. The only decent one I found are American Racing. The only problem, they are damn expensive. I tried looking for other manufactures, but none are recommended for a HD or are shorties.

My plans are long tubes, keeping the cats, and getting a Magnaflow.

Anyone running longtubes on their HD and happy with them?

2004 GMC Sierra 2500 364cid.

Can't help you here. :( The Hedman Headers on my impala where $450 6 years ago. They have the Jet Hot coating.

The reason I ask is because there is the crappy ebay/Chinese headers that seem to hold up fairly well, but might not have a perfect fit. They usually run around the 300 dollar range. Then there are the top notch, fully stainless, well put together headers like ARH/Stainlessworks/Dynatech. Those will be closer to 700-900 dollar range.

How much are you looking to spend?
Not $1500, but the quality of AMR appears to be top notch and that is with a y pipe and cats.. Granted, I don't mind forking out money for quality parts. I was thinking about $700ish, just for the headers.

I am goin with Dynatech when I do it
I glanced over those. One, I didn't see any bungs for the pre-cat O2s. Second, the primaries look like they are only tacked in place on the flange. Of course, this is the pictures I can find.

I saw the Stainless works. The only ones I saw were for the 8.1. The ones listed for the 1/2tons were double the price ($1400). I know the LS are all the same, but is there a difference why the ones for the 1/2tons won't fit the HDs?
