Drove it and stared WAY to long at a Denali HD on the GMC lot.
Drove it like I stole it, trying to get to work on time this morning
Did ya make it?![]()
I made it![]()
How much was the speeding ticket?![]()
Either the law didn't see me, or they couldn't catch me. Either way, I got lucky
Or they're mailing it.
That pic of my wife's truck that keeps popping up on the main page is from a speed camera.![]()
you gonna fight it?
Anal bastard

Paid it years ago. No sense in fighting it when it was a known speed trap (speed drops from 55 to 50 for about 1/2 mile, with the camera right in the middle and the first 50mph sign just inside a freaking tunnel, so you can't really see it when it's bright sun). Others have tried to fight it for years with no success.
what do they fight it on that they don't win?

Hell, that was almost 5 years ago now. One person tried fighting it on the basis that it was just to generate revenue, and not for safety, and lost when DC (this is in DC up near the Capitol Building) got an engineer to state that because of the light/dark transition going into the tunnel there they needed to slow traffic down.
Another fought it on the basis that the sign was unreadable coming in out of bright sun into a dark tunnel and lost because it was argued by DC that the sign couldn't be put anywhere else and it met all the Federal requirements for highway signs.
Oh, and I should also mention this is where two highways merge into one, and each is three lanes, so that's six lanes coming down into four and an exit lane, and the sign is on the wall on the far right shoulder. Damned hard to spot at the best of times (I later drove past three times before I actually spotted it) because your focus and attention is on the merging traffic around you, not looking on the right shoulder for a freaking speed limit sign inside the tunnel. The cameras are just as you come out of the tunnel, and the only sign there is 55mph, because that's where the 55 limit resumes.
In any case, it was $50, no points, and I couldn't take a day from work at the time, so I paid it.
What really bugged me was I got on that road by accident. I had picked the wife up at the hospital after she had knee surgery and she was supposed to give me directions home, but she was too groggy and kept falling asleep.
