On to another topic, should I get an extended power train warranty on a 04 Tahoe with 89k, body is perfect, seats look great, it drove great.

One question I have is about the brakes. On every Tahoe I have drove, they feel slightly soft, go to the floor almost, but when I get to the bottom, they give me resistance, like I can feel them pushing back at me?

Dealership is offer 2 years 24k on the powertrain for 1600. Should I look to shop it, do I even need it?

Re: Extended Warranty on 04?

If they specifically say "powertrain" that basically means it will only cover major engine or transmission repair. Brakes are not covered on ANY extended warranty as they are considered a wear and tear item. I would keep the money in my pocket if I were you.

My extended warranty both times have mounted to nothing. I say forget it and save $1600.

On a Tahoe, not a chance. Keep your cash and roll that fugger. Use it to buy some new rotors and pads, some Amsoil, plugs, wires, Black Bear tune, etc.

Keep the money.

I've never had any complaint with GM's brakes. I do wish there was some way to make my company sled Taurus have decent brakes. They suuuuuuck.

Paying extra money for an extended warranty is a waste of money...for just about anything.

The 5.3 4L60 combo has proven to be seriously reliable. I'd be hard pressed to pay for an extended warranty.
