I have to find my scanner, can't remember what box it's in. From my research, Fords with that body style had a problem because their wasn't enough slack between the wheel and the frame. Caused some broken wires.

I replaced the drivers side on my old GMC at least twice...........

I think I've discovered why they break....after years of use the little nylon bushings on the rods wear causing you to pull harder to open the door and eventually you break the handle.I believe the fix is to drill out the rivet holding the handle ass'y in place and move the ass'y away(or towards the front of the truck) from the door latch causing the handle to start the pull earlier(not sure if that makes sense).Then use a self-tapping screw to hold the ass'y in place since it won't line up with the rivet hole anymore.The driver's door handle on my burb is starting to be hard to open and will try my theory on it.

It wouldn't hurt anything to try it. If it don't work, just put it back where it's supposed to be.

Actually I have tried it and it worked...on a new handle.Replaced the pass. door handle a couple of weeks ago.In stock location the door was still hard to open so that's when I moved the handle forward and it worked.Now I'll try to save the existing handle on the driver's door.
