In a Miata or Boxter, sure. In a 'Vette, hard top, all the way.

I'm also not so favorable to convertibles, but since it's a Vette I'd actually consider to get one if I had the money to spend on it and a decent garage to store it when not using it...

While a beautiful car and from what I can tell is just pretty much a Z06 convertible. I'm going to have to go off on a rant though.

I'm so tired of using old monikers to label new engines. The "Legendary Hemi" or the return of the Ford's "5.0" or people trying to relate the LS engines to the original small block. People should stop calling the 5.3 a 327 because it isn't one (actually 325cu in) and the 7.0 isn't a 427 (actually 428) but then it wouldn't help sell cars to the idiot consumer who doesn't realize the "Chevy Small Block" died a decade ago. /rant

I agree with you, but as we say back here, marketing is the soul of the business...

While I partially understand your rant, I think it's a little unfounded. I haven't heard GM describe the 5.3 as a 327, but I understand how people are confused. Both are 5.3X liters.

The 7.0 is technically 427.8 cubic inches so why wouldn't they keep a name around that is coveted by most of there current market for a vette?:dunno: Most of the people that can afford buying the car now were kids then and dreamed of having a 427 corvette.

Since GM never produced a car with 427 SBC they must going after the "idiot consumer that doesn't realize the Chevy big block died" 3 years ago.

I don't recall Ford ever actually producing a 5.0L V8. 5 liters is 305.11872ci so the same argument can be made for your Chevy 5.3 and 7.0 comparison. The "new 427" Vette is 427.8ci and the old big block 427 was actually 426.7ci. What's the big deal? Engine sizes have always been about rounding to a number that sounds better in a marketing sense.
