how the fWONk is solar and wind power going to help our oil and gas prices? The fWONking electric companies dont run on oil...they are fWONking coal and nuclear powered...am I missing something?

Electric cars right now are in their infancy and generally catch hell because of the fossil fuels, etc. being burned to create the power used to charge them. If that power came from water, wind, nuclear, etc., the down side would be far less significant.

Are they for everyone, no, but when battery tech and cheaper, cleaner electricity can be developed, the technology could be very useful on bases, at factories, in city environments, etc.

If not, what would you suggest we do after the oil runs out, because it will. The number of people and vehicles increases all the time. We need to at least begin thinking about it now, don't you think?

What a fWONking idiot. Oil is the fuel of the past? Please.

Excuse me, I've got to go hitch up the team and plow the back 40. Will take me all day. Then I've got to go to town and buy some kerosene for my lamps and chop some wood for the stove. That'll keep me up til 9:00 or so. :(

Yea...that sure will put a dent in ethanol production, won't it..... :dunno:

Electric cars have been around for well over 100 years...
Considering the timespan....They are not much better now than they were then...

Hybrids have been around since 1916...

I know you're joking, but I've always said ethanol isn't the silver bullet for our energy woes. Just s a stepping stone, if you will

Nick,
A serious question for a change...
My car gets worse mileage when I am using fuel with ethanol in it... about 10% worse.
Other people that I have talked to say about the same thing.

If I am burning 10% more TOTAL fuel by using ethanol... where are the savings and what exactly am I saving ???

You are only saving money if the ethanol is cheap enough to offset the mileage loss. Your car probably runs better, but the mileage is worse, hands-down.

It is getting harder and harder to find REAL GAS anymore.
There is NONE available around here at retail stations.
I do sometimes find it when I am on trips.

When I can find it, my car actually runs a little better (slightly more power) idles smoother and gets a little better mileage.

Real gas and ethanol gas is usually the same price, or real close.... when I can find it.
I don't see where I am saving ANYTHING.... :dunno:

This guy just doesn't get it. The world will use fossil fuels until we have nothing left, it's the cheapest and most abundant resource we have for powering vehicles. All the other shit is just that, shit!

I hope they save some petroleum for the other products it's used in though.
Awe screw those other products. I just need gas to drive my guzzling truck around hauling nothing but my fat ass. :D

hahahaha
