Very cool build, I had a buddy who was big time into the samurai's & Fords. He had one that was stock and another one with a hopped up ford ranger engine in it. He had it lifted and was running on 35's. He had to cut the radiator support and move it forward also had to put on a hood scoop so it would fit. The stock one he used as his daily driver and he had a beat up 77 ford high boy that he had dropped a max bore 460 (514 now) into. He always talked about trying to see if it was possible to put the 460 into the daily driver one. He ended up getting himself killed almost 10 years ago but had he lived I'm sure he would have tried and then killed himself with it....lol Keep up the great work, looks awesome!

Very cool!! It's amazing how big the 38's look on the sammi!!! Under my truck they look small... LOL.

Question... what are you going to do about the transfer case.. to get good driveshaft angles?

Yes, The driveshaft angles are something to take into consideration. You really don't do anything with the transfer case.

The front has a high pinion and it was stretched 5 inch. That angle is no bad at all.

The rear was a bit of an issue that was taken care of by rotating the rear axle 19 degrees. The rear was also stretched 3 inches and I will be using a double u-joint at the transfer case side.

The stock Toy housing is in the center position, this would have made it a double angle. Some are able to use it like this for offroad, since this Rig will be a pavement pounder mostly. The choice was to get an aftermarket housing that was offset to eliminate the double angle.

Really have to take all this into consideration before you even start a ridiculous lift like this on such a small Rig or you will be in a mess.

Thanks for sharing your story and sorry to hear about your friend.

If someone was to try and do that type of motor transplant it would rip the very thin wall frame in half.

You can see where I had to re-box the frame with ¼” plate so the suspension mods would stay in place.

I have however read that if you use a Bronco frame and mod the body to fit the frame that would be a better solution.

Thanks for the comments as well.
