Old air cooled VWs were fun to work on.

Yeah they really are. They're damn near like a toy honestly. I don't regret being forced to drive a Beetle for my first car. I had a blast and a ton of memories from those cars. I've missed my 57 everyday since last October. :uhoh:

You betcha
Look at my cute little engine. And all the plugs are right on top, couldn't be an easier. Hard to believe that it can put the power down it does.

Kia and Hyundai really seem to have this stuff figured out. What an amazing turnaround in the last 10 years. Somebody over there is paying attention. Honda and Toyota better start doing the same.

I never really thought about it but how do you change the plugs on a Subaru? Do you dismantle half the engine compartment or do they have some trick way of doing it? :dunno:

They're not scheduled to be replaced until 60k miles. So, I haven't looked at it yet.

When my dad had an Opel Corsa it took 5 years to reach 60k miles. The warranty in his current Impreza is 5-year. But actually I don't really care about replacing spark plugs in its current engine, since I'm counting the days for an engine swap :naughty:

I drove a '70 Super Beetle to school for my first car. It was a blast to drive and back then you could drive 275 - 300 miles on a 10.5 gal tank for less than $10...

Yea...you could practically carry out the engines yourself after removing the motor mounts...

I wouldn't mind having an air-cooled one to drive around town and tinker with... :D
