TX, where else should I be?
Well, I do have my commuting bike. Not a street bike but I can cruise at a respectable clip for a long time. Looks like it'll be my grocery getter this summer if gas breaks $4.

What? None of you saw this coming? :dunno:

When have fuel prices ever gone down significantly? If any kind of "crisis" hits, and fuel goes up $1.00, when the crises passes it never goes back down that same $1.00. It might go down 25 or even 50 cents, but never the same amount it went up.

And don't give me any of that BS that oil companies aren't making windfall profits. Look in the article at what the CEO of Gulf Oil said, that one of the factors in raising prices is the closing of East Coast refineries. You'd think that would lower prices, because that's less structure the oil company has to maintain and spend money on. But, not only do the cost savings go right into their pockets, having less refinery capacity means less product to sell, which means brokers will pay more for what's being produced. It becomes a seller's market.

Face facts people, fuel prices will never go anywhere but up in the long term.

The Gulf CEO said part of the rising price is switching back to "MORE EXPENSIVE" "SUMMER GRADE" gasoline....

Every fall they say part of the rising price is switching to "MORE EXPENSIVE," "WINTER GRADE" gasoline...

Which is it ????? :dunno:

Both.

Same thing with diesel. In the summer they say the price is high because they're not producing as much fuel oil as in the winter, because demand for heating oil is low. In the winter they say the price is high because most of the production is going to heating oil. Theoretically, right now diesel in my area should be a lot cheaper than it is, due to the mild winter we've had and the lower demand for heating oil. Reserves should be very high, driving the price down. Is it? Nope!

Yeah... I kinda keep up with diesel prices...
One of my Brothers is a long distance truck driver...
He has two tanks... 120 gallons each...
His truck gets around 5MPG...
It gets a little expensive to put a couple of hundred gallons in it at almost 4 bucks a gallon for diesel...:ohnoes:
It is not unusual at all to use 150 gallons a day...
