Re: 100,000 Mile Maintenance

I had Oil Can Henry's do a P/S flush on the 'hoe with this Golden Eagle somethingorother synthetic fluid before we drove up the AlCan. They had a $19.95 special. It was pretty cool, the dude showed me the old fluid, it was nasty. I had already done coolant, diffs, trans and brake fluid.

:ohnoes: Damn, this thread. Now I have to consider doing brake, power steering, tranny fluid changes, and a damn coolant flush. I already did the rear diff about 12K ago with Amsoil, and I did the plugs and wires around 6K ago.

Done yet? :)

Nope. I figure I'll just drive down and let you take care of it for me.

I flushed the system the best I could a while ago and switched out my PS fluid for Amsoil ATF like Nick had recommended

How long can you go with the Amsoil in your Diffs? Or what's the recommended interval?

Normal service is 100k miles or by the owners manual, which ever one is longer.

Severe service is 50k miles or by the owners manual, which ever is longer.

So if your owners manual states 50k for normal service you can go 100k and if it states 30k for severe service you can go 50k.

Our Fords recommend 100k per change, that's what every Ford Mechanic has told me

You are more than welcome to come down Jeff, bring the wife, we are only an hour from the beach.

100k in the manual, just looked it up

This is what it says on the PDF for 04-08 F150 on Ford's online manual

❑ Inspect tires for wear. Rotation recommended for
optimal tire life.
❑ Inspect accessory drive belt(s).
❑ Replace spark plugs.
❑ Change Premium Gold coolant (see exceptions
page 45 and record page 46).
❑ Replace PCV valve on all light trucks under
6,000 Gross Vehicle Weight (except 5.4L
3V engines).
❑ Drain coalescent fuel filter bowl and replace filter
(natural gas only).
❑ Clean injectors (natural gas only).
❑ Multi-point inspection (recommended)
