Looks like the Viper 5901 you can pick up on ebay for $200.00. Wonder how much a shop would charge to install if I brought my own kit in. Just thinking.

No, that's not a banana in my pants.
Be prepared to spend all day doing it. I have done plenty of them and it still takes me about 4 hours to install one. I can do a rush job and complete one in about an hour and a half, but I would rather take my time and make sure its done right. I would rather take longer installing it and know its correct than rush and have a customer end up coming back all for one bad wire connection.

I'm thinking about doing it from Travis because he does the prewire option for us Ford guys

That's confirming what I thought. I figured doing it myself I'd plan a whole day off installing it 6-8 hours for a nOOb

Most shops wont even do it if you bring in your own alarm. If they do, they will inflate the price to make up for what they would have made off of you if you bought the alarm from them. IMO, 200-250 would be a fair price for install. Any more than $250, and they are trying to rape you.
If I was doing it, I would charge you $150, just sayin.

I remember the very first remote start I did. It was on my 87 Cutlass back in 1998. It took me about 12 hours.
And I had already been installing alarms and car audio for about 2 years by then. But a lot of that was me trying to hide everything for a stealth install. I didn't want a crook easily finding it and yanking it out.
