My truck when I start it at a cold start starts and maintains 800rpm. Most trucks will revv and idle at like 1200 rpm for thirty seconds. also when going up a hill if i dont give it enough gas it acts like it wants to knock off. Always had this problem, has a brand new fuel pump and fresh fuel filter. Any ideas:dunno:

Fuel pressure regulator or a dirty intake. I know I had a dirty intake around the butterfly holding it open slightly allowing too much air in causing a low idle/bog. Fuel pressure regulators are common replacement items on gmt 800s, so I've been told. Check to see if its wet inside hose to regulator( its on DRv side fuel rail IIRC.)

This is where I'd start.

My truck has idled at about 800 or so RPM's since I bought it in 2006. However, it will increase slightly if the AC is on. :dunno:
