I messed up the 4 at the very end. I'm sure it's because I had gotten impatient! :jester:
Good score too.

I really did get a 0 on the test! There is no way to prove it but o well :dunno:

I have always had good eyes, but staring at those colors, they all started changing colors and moving around...

I believe ya. It is funny how the colors start playing tricks on your eyes after looking at them for so long.

It's not easy, you really have to look very carefully.

It's NOT going well.

The guy I usually use for powdercoating (also my fab guy), has refused to pcoat a clear over anything he's already shot for me i.e. the UCA's, Skid Plate Tube Framing...etc cause he can't get the clear to lay down without orange peel. He doesn't think a clear helps with durability, which is not what most other pcoaters believe to be the case. Most metallic powders need a clearcoat for outdoor applications or the metal flake will oxidize over time, not to mention the clear would protect the metallic against scratches and marring.

So, I reluctantly paid for everything he's pcoated for me but have to find someone who will clear them, if it's even possible now that I have touched them with my hands (plus most guys don't want to clear over someone elses work)

The springs were already on their way back to KING when I realized they had too many layers on them, a clear would make it 4 layers and make the powder brittle. So, I had to scramble and find a powdercoater on the west coast who would strip and recoat them for me the right way.

Then I find out King assembled them for some reason even though I told them to ship them to another pcoater. My pcoater of choice received the springs and claimed they were all banged up, powder had chipped/flaked off in 3-5 areas, which tells me the powder was crap and wasn't cured right for them to get damaged that easily from KING assembling them temporarily.

Found a GREAT powdercoater, or so I thought in Utah. Great work, second to none, but he's been stringing me along for almost a week now with empty promises and every excuse you can think of.

He received the springs last Thursday, stripped them, blasted them and hasn't pcoated them, even thought he claims he was going to Sunday night. He also promised me videos and pictures of the heavy silver with 4 different sparkly clear top coats, which I still haven't seen.

I know they'll be done right, this guy does pcoating for Forgiato wheels, Ferrari and is trusted with $10,000 wheels. Original price was $80 for both, my powdercoater charged me $120. Now he says since he was dragged this on and made me wait he's coating them for free. I just want them done. At this point, it's more not wanting to hold up KING, since these will be going on in the spring now for sure.

Finished my s/s dumped exhaust, looks good. Now I have to decide, should I have it polished along with the s/s skidplate? Or should I have the exhaust black ceramic coated?

Also polish your driveshaft

Excuse me?

:D

No, haven't even given any thought to doing that. Pics? I assume it has to be removed to do this?

I have not done it but I want to say someone on GMT did it, they put the truck up on jack stands and put it in drive at idle and polished that way. Not the brightest idea but I guess it would work if you were careful.

I have polished aluminum rims I had on my old impala by putting it on jack stands and putting it in drive and let the wheels spin while I worked the polish, did a good job.
