Just had an insurance quote done through the same people I have my truck through. $1200.00 a year on the bike or if I wait 5 weeks when I turn 25 it drops to $420.00 a year. But they said the policy is for a year so the rate wont change if I get the bike this weekend when I turn 25. What a crock of shit. I'm going to check else where. I dont know how long I can go being ill have a loan until I have to insure the bike.

That still seems alittle high on insurance-you thought about just getting a signature loan in stead of a loan for the bike? If you could an left bike out of the "loan" then you won't need full coverage insurance, 38k seems like quite a few miles-but i agree with what others have said it just depends on maintance and how its rode. Those kinda bikes id think they would of built it accordingly though for performance. A harley and that kind of bike is not the same at all. Iv hade harleys and that kind you getting-harleys are cruisers that is not. But 2g is fair price for it id think and if it seems mechanical sound id do it-worse case is one day you just have the engine rebuilt and thats cheaper than paying for a new one and the insurance for it. Good luck enjoy it and don't kill yourself on it-rember to be a defendsive driver while your on it.

the bike looks good, check the frame under/behind the rear sets for rub marks or gouges, thats an easy way to see if the bike has been down, if it runs good, you should be ok, honda has always been the reliable manufacturer of the sports bike world....even if the gears slip a little, you can just replace the clutch and that should take care of it...

I have always been very cautious on bikes. I am not one to beat on anything, I simply want it for the gas mileage, and that is how I will ride it. My dad has a bike, and I would love to be able to go on rides with him on Saturday mornings, while this may not be as comfortable, I don't want an "old man" bike.

I should check into the signature loan, no more than the loan is for interest rates really won't matter as I plan to pay it off quickly anyways.

Yeah, parts I'm not worried about, my best friends dad is the Parts person at our local Honda dealership, he gets me anything I want at the shops cost.

Well I just called my bank, they said if I get a signature loan I can run liablilty insurance. So I am going to do that, which costs about $350.00 a year.

Yeh that insurance is way high. I'm only 17 and for my 06 600rr it's a little over $800, but that is with a multi-policy discount and all that stuff. But even so an older bike should be much cheaper.
