Took the tonneau cover off yesterday so I could haul my smoker and my grill to church. Cooked for the youth group.

Towed this '78 car (I didn't even look at what it was) with a 400 (maybe?) in it. Got 15mpg for the round trip! Way better than I was expecting. That's doing 65 for 55mi and 60 for 30mi each way. The truck squatted 3" (from 36" to 33"). Took my time accelerating and braking (trailer has e-brakes). It couldn't have gone better! :)

What was the occasion of towing it?
Believe it or not, it was towing it FROM the junkyard home! My buddy picked it to be a demolition car. The derby is in 3wks. I can't go since it's on a Friday night. :(

I didn't mind one bit. He pays for gas and I like driving and towing stuff. We both help each other out on A LOT of car/truck stuff. :)

Good deal, it's always great to help buddys out like that
So far, I've towed.....a '73 Monte Carlo, an 80's Chevy wagon, an 80's Chevy Malibu 4-door, and now this '78 sedan, along with a few car bodies/engines to the junkyard for him. I love how some people just stare at what's behind the truck. :rollin:

I told him I need to take a load like this with me to work one day just for the hell of it. I'd get a kick out of it, but I don't the the clientele would (I work at a private country club; and I'm one of two employees that drives a truck). The only thing I've taken to work that's extra was a riding mower in the back of the truck one time.

What do you run for a brake controller?

What do you run for a brake controller?
Hopkins 47225 Brake-Force that can power up to 6 brakes (so 3 axles I'm guessing). I haven't used a controller before this one, but I like it. It gets the job done and is extremely easy to use and effective. My buddy actually bought it for when we first went all the way to Milwaukee (a 3 1/2hr drive) to get the '73 Monte Carlo so I really didn't have a say in the controller.

Put 100$ worth of gas in it. And I am pissed. The last station in the area that sold ethanol free gasoline now has ethanol. :fume: So I have no choice but to put that ethanol shit in my truck now. :suicide:
