It's virtually impossible to roll a Miata unless you are being a complete idiot. There are TONS of stories about people getting rearended or simply crashing on the street and sustaining serious head injuries from roll bars on street Miatas. Roll bars are designed to be used with helmets.

Think safe.

Dan, just comb your eyebrows back and over and that should provide enough padding for you to rock the roll bar. Otherwise, yeah, don't install something that's gonna split your dome.

Hmm.. interesting, I do however not like the way it's straight across the top instead of following the curve of the windshield.

Just me being the picky bastage that I am. :) Sure is beefy though. What's it made out of? DOM or Chrome-moly?

As was said, it's there to protect you, but could be dangerous as well.

This was a "mother mandated" item. And in this area, 99% of the roads have drainage ditches on either side, which have history of making cars go shiny side down (I personally know people who have flipped an Altima, and a Civic because of the ditches).

I was VERY wary of the head-to-roll bar contact issue, but since this one is made to work with a hard top, it's a couple inches shorter, and further back than most. In most normal situations, it would be difficult for my head to hit the bar, but I'm still considering doing the foamectomy to the seat to get myself a couple of inches lower. I also have SFI padding for it.

It's made out of 1-3/4" x 1/8" wall DOM tubing. Pretty sure it's the strongest part on the entire car.

Just went for a drive, and this thing really tightened up the rear of the car.

You should've just taken my GG, cut it up and use it instead, same crap.

You could've flipped it upside down and had the fangs sticking out the soft top, woulda looked shnazzy.
