Well then youve got a great motor to start with then
Thanks:cheers:

What's the history on the motor?
The guy who had it before me "said" his uncle rebuilt it 7-8 months ago. Im going by that lip at top of piston and its a 4 bolt an 30 over---just it had alot of carbon build up and its grease as all get out on the outside-head bolts where not even torqued-can't beleive i was driving it---"always double check your head bolt torque"-i do. The engine had crappt 624 heads reg. rockers-but had a fluid damper-had flywheel on wrong---it was a mix match patch job and someone knew and did'nt know what they was doing---bottom half is what i was after and it is good. The crank has DEE on it? Is that a aftermarket? Guy had said it was a 383-but crank numbers show it to be a 350.

Definately the 350, ithe 454 would add a shit ton of weight and would cost more to beef up the frame/suspension. A nice 383 stroker would be perfect

I agree-i thought it was a 383 when i first got it because the guy i got it from said it was...I am starting to really lean towards doing the 350 with all ya'lls input and saving the 454 for the 63 or some future project. Thanks everyone for ya'lls input.

Turns out crank and flywheel is balanced and had a fluid damper---So bottom half is bored 30 over with 8.2 to 1 pistons-4 bolt block-crank(stock-1969) an flywheel balanced with fluid damper. Sound like a 6500rpm engine? Yea i know 10 to 1 pistons would of been better-but im not going to rebuild it...

8.2 pistons.... yikes! Is there any way to shave some off of the heads to get better compression or get different heads to up it? That is below boost motor compression.

Thats with 76cc heads-im not going to use the heads that where on it because they where 624-prone to crack---So i be looking for some 350 heads-thinking of getting some heads that i can shave 20-30thou. maybe find some smaller cc heads...any suggestions?
