Will the hubs still manually engage? Does it have the floor shifter or the knob on the dash?

Wayne I have to pullmthe center caps off the front wheels which might mean taking them off and in should be able to engage them manually but it's been suggested to swap for warns and forget fixing the vac leak

Dash. The diesel boys tell me if I manually engage them I can still use the knob to turn the front shaft and change gears in the tcase just have to engage them before going off road only down side is if I get into a bad situation and don't have them locked or can't get them locked it's no 4x4

This is true. The reason I was asking is that the floor shifters don't utilize the vacuum system at all and you must manually engage the hubs. The dash switch system has a hybrid system which allows you to manually engage the hubs or allow the vacuum actuators to work.

My work truck has the full manual system with the floor shifter, and I usually just lock the hubs when I know I am headed into an area where I might need 4wd, then I unlock them when I get ready to hit the pavement again. It also doesn't hurt anything if you leave them engaged on the hwy, it just keeps all the front end components turning, so you may see lower fuel economy and would see more wear and tear on the front axle components over time.
