Seems like a good price... But if your wanting to keep a lot of stuff on it, go higher than 8 GB

There are any number of superior sound quality MP3 players out there that don't rely on Apple's proprietary compressed iTunes files.

I'd look for one of them if you give a damn about sound quality. Otherwise, this one should work fine.

I've actually been watching these and that is in the ballpark. The 5 and 6th gen have video capabilities, which probably isn't important to you. All the Nanos are around $60 -$70regardless of generation. This link has a chart at the bottom that tracks pricing. Looks like Buy it nows are about 20% more in selling price... Good Luck

Jim, the iPod plays more than just AAC's

Audio formats supported:
AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Store), HE-AAC, MP3 (8 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3, 4, Audible Enhanced Audio, AAX, and AAX+), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV

I like being able to use my head unit to scroll through playlist's and artist.. which the ipod lets me. I do want videos... for movies ect... but music is top priority. this one does videos right?

How much space do you want it to have? I have a 8gb Nano that I never use anymore, I need to check and see if it still works but if so you can have it for cheap.

Well... That is good info. The iPod is also what works and interacts with most head units. If he wants to control it via remote, that might be the only real choice.
