Original MPG thread

Well all this talk about mpg had me thinking on the ride home. is my mpg hurting me yes. has it always? yes. but before all the mods when you got your truck used or new what were you getting MPG wise.

I now get 14 when lucky which i think is good foor all the extra weight i added.
but i originally got 19mpg from a 5.4L so why is everyone making a big deal about the (omg trucks getting 20mpg) i almost got it with a used 07.

anyways what you get when you started?

I have goten up to 20mpg hwy in the GMC, no clue right now but probly 14mpg around town, that may improve as the temps warm up.

My 98 used to get 7mpg city and when i was done could get 11 in town. lots of tricks to breath an ole 454.

I got 14mpg with the dodge and around 4mpg with the chevy. I hoping an overhaul kit will help the dodge a lil.

I used to get 15mpg Stock, now with the programmer new wheels and tires I get 15mpg

I get about 10 in town and maybe 18 on the open road. I was averaging about 15 going back and forth to work.

I get about 11 around town but up to 20 on the HWY

14-16 mpg from my stock F150 and thats atleast 75% highway

When I got the truck, it got between 14-16. Replaced the cats, and got 16-17. Added 1.2 liters and a few extra things, and dropped back down to 14-17.

OH and the superduty gets 8.5mpg city, and 8.5mpg Hwy.
