I can repalce as well.I need a vacation and my passport is still valid so pay for my flight and I'll replace it for FREE.

I'm now on Medicare,officially old.
Had my truck e-tested last month.
I only have 69800km on the truck.This is the first time for it.Now every 2 years it will have to be done in order to get my plate stickers.
Our print-outs look very similar(the results get sent directly to Ca. DMV immediately),AND,(I almost forgot)since it's CA. law you must have proof of insurance(with a card from your Ins. Co. in the car at all times),your Ins. Co. must also register(electronically) proof to the state that you do have ins. before they'll issue the tag.....umh,Commiefornia,yep!!
It's just the way it is here,we live with it,not very willingly,but we live with it
Another note,if you don't have that little ''proof of ins. card'' the cops can give you a ticket.They ask for it along with your registration card when you get pulled over.
Once you get the smog test done,and the car passed,and your ins. is up to date it's possible to go to the DMV website and pay for the registration and they'll send your tag in the mail.That part is nice since you don't have to go to the local DMV office and wait in line to pay and get the tag...

Its pretty much the same deal here with the insurance. You need proof of ins to do ANYTHING at the DMV, even if you are just renewing your drivers license. If you own a vehicle, they want an ins card, no ifs, ands, or buts. And if a cop pulls you over and you cant produce an ins card, they can have your vehicle impounded. It sucks, but even if you do have ins and just misplaced the card, they can impound you. Some cops wont impound it though, if they choose not to. But in that case, they have to seize the plate off the car and put a big ass neon green sticker on the back window saying the plate was seized for no proof of insurance.
Needless to say, thats why I carry a card in both my truck, and in my wallet.
