I had 8 guys call me for my '00 rims. I did it on a first-call, first-serve basis. The 1st guy would do $25 less than asking, some of the others said they'd do full asking. I called back 1st guy, told him the situation, and he did full price.

Most people would say "first one who shows up with cash gets it". I guess I'm not that way.

I'm with Scott (PenguinLTZ) on this one. Let them all know what's going on, and then become an auctioneer yourself. Highest bid wins.
I'd feel bad if the guy drove 3hrs (whether it be one-way or round-trip) and then didn't get it because of requiring to be in person to bid.

Sell it to all of them, tell them to pick it up in a random parking lot, get the money before hand, and leave before they get there.

Right!!!

Actually, that would be fine with me as the numbers on the title have never matched the numbers on the truck. They needed a LONG VIN### and it only come with a VIN that was 6 digits, so they mixed up some other numbers in there. I'll be sure to remove the plates and wipe it down. HAHA

So got a call from one of the guys interested tonight. He is willing to send a cashier's check for $1000 for me to hold it until the end of March. Non refundable which he stated will be in the agreement that he sends along with the check. Said that if I sell it, he's out or if I keep it (the money)put it towards the shipping cost of the truck to MA. I told him that it would probably be best if looked at the truck before making a promise like this. He said he would be down by 1800 on Sunday, the other peeps are coming on Sat. which I told him about. He said "If they buy it they do and I'm out 1k, if they don't then I'll pay you the rest". Sounds like a scam, that is why I want him to look at the truck in person.

That does stink of a scam, big time. How was he telling you all of this? By phone or email messages?

By phone, he gave me his number after asking about 20 or so questions via email that were easier to answer by phone. So I told him I needed to talk with in not his machine so he emailed me his number. I called back this yesterday to talk with him (blocked number instilled) and he emailed back today for me to call him about an arrangement on buying.

Smells fishy.

Who would willingly give up $1k if someone buys the vehicle before they do?

If it wasn't a scam, he would say "if someone buys it before I do, I get my money back" or not even send the money.

Don't do anything you don't feel is right. You are offering people a great deal and you will have no shortage of suitors.

According to him, I'll have the cashier's check and notarized letter in Thursday's mail, certified. If it sells, I'm sending him the check back uncashed, I do not want someone's money for nothing. THat's not me.
