Still Here Because I'm Not There
I am sure mine is up there, rolled over 8,700 today.

Mine had a 4.8 "that went because of my stupid self" at about 245000. I replaced it with a 5.3

Don't feel too bad. I let an intake water leak go in my 2001 Silverado and it ended up costing me an engine replacement. Sometimes we aren't the smartest...Especially true for that guy named daddy.Mine had a 4.8 "that went because of my stupid self" at about 245000. I replaced it with a 5.3

Someone told me I should seafoam the motor to De-carbon the top end . SO against my better judgement I did it. Took off the brake booster line, poured too much in and it sucked it into the # 8 hole. The extra compression destroyed the piston.
I had to get the truck back on the road so I got a good 5.3 from a yard for 700 dollars and droped it in.
When I tore the 4.8 down the block was scored really bad from the rod. BUT the rest of the motor was perfect "Which pissed me off even more" Because it would have ran for a lot longer than 245000 mi. I will try to get some pictures up soon.
