Probably going to be getting a soft tonneau cover for my truck in the next month or two, just need some relatively weatherproof storage with the regular cab. Anyone with experience have recommendations for brands or features to look for or stay away from?

They make a lot of nice soft covers. I would recommend you stay away from the style that snaps all the way around the bed. I and one and hated it. There are some very easy ones out there now.

I had an Access Lorado on my truck before the shell. It was the low profile model and it seemed to be quite well made.

How "weatherproof" are you looking for? The one I had on my Sierra used velcro down the sides. So, that was nice. But, it wasn't completely "sealed" up front. So, air could get in..

I actually didn't mind that, most of the time. That let it "breathe" some if moisture got inside.. But, when it was raining, you could end up with a little water in the bed.. It also didn't keep dust out..

Anything I wanted to put back there that I wanted protected from rain & dust, I'd put in storage bins and bungee them to the sides of the bed, so they didn't slide around. The storage bins weren't air-tight, either. But, between the tonneau and the storage bins, the stuff in the bins stayed relatively dust-free.. and I don't remember anything ever getting wet inside the storage bins, under the tonneau.. :dunno:

ANY soft cover will let in a little bit of water, dust, etc. Some claim to seal the elements out, but some will still get in. It is minimal, but it is there.

The cover will collect lots of dust if you drive on gravel roads. My Dad has a Truxedo Lo-Pro cover and whenever he's on a dirt road the inside of the box turns brown.

True Tyler. There are lots of little cracks and holes for dirt to sneak in through in a truck bed.

I love my truxedo lo pro. I have a contact on ebay that has them at a great price if you want one too. Matt_ bought one from him for his denali, and I have hooked a number of people up with him since.

Truxedo LoPro. I love how easy it is to roll it up. The angled side rails make this a lot easier and also keep it lower and less noticeable.

Yes, there will be some water leakage. I have quite a bit on the bed rails, but I blame the spray-on bed liner.

On my S10, I have an Access cover (bought it used). Not having the spray-on bed liner makes a HUGE difference. It doesn't leak at all. It also doesn't have the angled side rails which to me makes it just a hair more difficult to roll it up.
