It really is a beautiful car. Reminds me of father in laws BMW 550

Oh god...the M5 from 2001 is one of my all time favorite cars:

Same with the 7-Series from the same year:

Oh...and I want to say something about foreign cars...specifically Korean cars.

My dad's girlfriend is named Karrie. Karrie has two daughters...both are new drivers. One Halloween, the two girls and two of their friends were going to a Halloween party at Karrie's brothers house. They were meeting their mom, uncle, my dad at the uncle's house. Their street is off a two lane road just on the other side of a hill. It's not a good corner.

The girls went to turn when a Dodge Durango came over the hill and T-Boned this 2009 Hyundai Elantra...here is a pic for reference:

images

The driver (Karrie's oldest daughter) was the only one to not lose consciousness in the crash. She had to sit in the car as her sister and their two friends lay motionless. She had no idea if they were alive.

One girl broke many ribs, had a collapsed lung and many bruised internal organs. I believe she was the one that was NOT breathing on-scene.

The other daughter (Karrie's youngest) suffered a broken pelvis (in 5 places) and other injuries.

Two people were air lifted from the scene, one was taken by ground ambulance to the local hospital then flown to the Twin Cities.

The end result...all girls are fine. A tip of the hat to Hyundai...they built an absolutely fantastic little car. Karrie swears by them as she almost lost both of her daughters in one day. Think about it.................................

My dad has a kia sedona minivan and its pretty nice, the only problem it had mechanically was a check engine light caused by the electric throttle motor. We still drove it in and it was fixed under warranty. My dad uses that thing like a truck, always loads it up with food for the church or building supplies and that thing just keeps going with no problem. He brings it home and we put the 2 captain chairs back in and you can seat 7 people and still have plenty of room in the back. I was skeptical when he bought it but that thing has won me over hands down! The v6 can easily spin the tires and gets great milage. You have to remember we own a dismantling yard so we know our "junk"! these new Hyundais and Kias dont fall in that category anymore. I see a million request for chevy and ford parts before a kia even pops up on the parts locater. Times are changing!

My wife has an 09 Kia Sportage, and in 30k miles of her inattentive/uncaring driving, it has had absolutely zero problems. I would recommend it to anyone.

On a related note, I actually saw the new '11 Hyundai Elantra the other day, great looking car and rated at 40 mpg hwy. If I could convince the wife, I would be picking one of these up for a commuter soon.

40 MPG

Just imagine if I got that...I'd only use 2 gallons of gas per day going to and from work
