This is where Nick can tell you the differences but I know that they are just recommended for different drain intervals. Amsoil does make a filter that is about twice the price as the Wix but it is meant for 15000 miles or more. Its all 100% synthetic.

I am speculating that they dont make just one great product because of people like yourself that are uncomfortable with a long drain interval. I assume that they have different additives to make the oil last longer.

I also read that amsoil is made in the USA, which is great.

The different grades of synthetic are produced from different grades of base stock, that much I remember.

I have the top of the line stuff but I am still not sold on the 25K miles drain interval. Maybe I'm throwing away money but I don't care. I may ( and that's a big may) go as long as 10K this time.:dunno:

Amsoil does have a filter that is pretty pricey, but again I'm not that concerned about price anymore.

Well wix filters are good enough for me at $7 as opposed to mobil 1 at $13.

It's hard to not worry about cost when you're doing three synthetic oil changes at once :dunno:

Nick I just went to the OE Amsoil and Nick said it is fine for me to change @ 5,000 I did that b/c I'm the same way as most guys on here I just don't feel right going past 5,000-6,000 miles

I need to upgrade to a purolater or wix filter. Been using the Motorcraft ones b/c that's what all the :ford: guys told me to use

What did you use for the transfer case? Ive always heard no one makes an equivalent oil for it, that you have to use GM?

Also, how did you get all the fluid out of the trans and converter to switch to synthetic?

Not only is it made in the USA, but you can support our buddy Nick as well... who do you support by ordering Mobil 1?

We know Nick, he's a great guy... hell if a big order of Amsoil will cost me $15 more than an order of Mobil 1, it's a no brainer, especially in todays economy. I like my money to flow to good people :tmc:
