Why lower a 4x4?

Not at all, it is badass. daddy, Bigredmariner, DV2000NJ, 1LOW4x4, and others have lowered 4x4's, check out their rides- no rice at all.

I always preferred 4x4's to be more trail-oriented, then a lowered one wouldn't make too much sense. BTW if it's to run low why to spend more for a 4WD?:confused:

Because traction is important on road too.

Then a 4WD/AWD setup makes sense. But just for road use a single-speed system would be enought, instead of those 2-speed transfer cases. Also, a central differential would be more appropriated to drive 4 wheels on road.

I'm sure if they offered that behind a proper V8 for a reasonable price that would be fine.



It would cost a lot of money to completely modify a perfectly functioning 4WD system to do that.

Click the link in my sig, and you'll see why I lowered a 4wd instead of a 2wd. Being able to cut 1.7x 60' times on street tires isn't something you'll ever do on a comparably modified 2wd, plus I still have the option to run in 2wd on the street for fun/economy.
