I really wasn't planning on any go fast mods for this truck at all. But if i bought my own paint gun and shit, i could do my own colormatching and practice with the plastics under the hood. I guess some headers and a cam would be nice.....hmmmmmm
I've already got all of your money spent. Grab a custom spec'd cam from Pat G like Dan did. $400. Get a Circle D 3000 stall $375. and Pick up the same OBX headers off of Ebay that dan did. $375ish. BAM! That thing would scoot really good.

I just dont know about doing performance mods to this truck. Maybe Dan will chime in and convince me  But i mean, would it be worth it to mod the 5.3 or just go big and do the 6 oh swap. Something to think about.

Nick, thanks for the pics it looks good. Did you do all the work yourself then?
It all depends on how much power you want to get. Dan is going for pretty flippin fast. If you wanted something a bit faster than stock, the 5.3 is a great motor to mod.
Find out how much Dan has in his ride. I would think at least 5k in everything. Maybe that's a bit much but between the trans $2.5K plus I think around $2k just in the 6.0 then add up the cam, headers, stall and other odds and ends.

Yeah thats a bit much. But I guess you have to start somewhere. Headers and a cam+stall migh tbe do able.

IMO, the appearance is perfect. I've always liked the clean look of your truck. Sometimes less is more.

I like the clean look also, but i think theres a little more appearance mods i can do to make it look better imo.

Kyle, I wouldn't touch the exterior except for fixing the spots you mentioned. I've always thought your truck looked amazing and is by far my favorite GMT-800 (nice color too :D).

PTM some interior parts (like you did on the '96) and start on some performance stuff. I'd de-crank the front a little just to get it leveled (might help on tire wear too). Whatever is left over, put it towards paying it off.

Are your tires already worn down?

The interior may get some green, but i like the black and tan thats in there now. So I may do more black suede.

Its been de-cranked a little, but i like the stance too much to go down more  But thats why i thought about getting a 1.5" BL or 6" RCX totally de-cranked and still have a good stance. My Nittos still look brand new  So I dont need new tires but my factory 20's do need new tires, so i would just swap them over.

I mean....how much do you actually owe? If it's 1500 or less I'd say pay it off. If not, move inside or underhood IMO

I owe like 5 grand. So it will be paid off sometime this year regardless.

Since you don't drive it in the winter, what is the point of sticking $1k into a 2nd set of tires?

I'd just keep the 2nd set for "storage" so your good tires/rims don't get flat spots/see salt from washing other vehicles in the garage.

I think doing accent pieces can look good and add just enough imo.

For looks

The 2nd set is on the truck now for winter, and thats why i have them. So the predators can sit in the basement lol.

But the bottom line is i just can't decide. I've been thinking about what to do since november  I want the body paint work done, but its things that i really only notice, but i think a little more appearance mods would set it off more.
