I am hoping to get one of these some time this year
Downsizing or as a second vehicle?
Personally, I like the S10 better. Cheaper and more room inside. And parts are widely available.

How's the V6 holding up in your S10, Matt??

My mother-in-law had same engine in her '95....had lots of torque as I recall for a 4.3L ...

Downsizing, I need 4x4, and I can get that with a 4 banger and 4x4 without going Japanese. and its rated at 25 mpg.
I'm partially downsized, but the compact can't touch the F/S in terms of hauling and towing.
I didn't know they were available with the 4cyl in a 4x4. That should be pretty decent. Although, I got 24 with my '94 2wd S10, so 25 would be great even for the added weight. I'm sure the new engines are more efficient too.

Mods are mandatory!! :D

I don't haul a lot of weight, just need the bed for bulky stuff at work, and I need the smaller truck because of the distance I drive to work. I put on about 500 miles a week on my truck, and it has 218000 miles on it. Plus I've had it for over 8 years, time for a change.

I love the engine. It really gets the small truck moving FAST. Oil pressure (according to the extremely accurate gauge) is up around 60psi. My problem is still the idle issue. Other than that I love it....well, minus the fact that I'm getting 18mpg in the winter (my full-size got 13mpg with 2 more cylinders and at least 1k lbs.

Any idea what size vacuum hose I need and where I can find it?

An 8-12mpg increase would definitely help out your wallet too !
