Damn that sucks Wayne. Those tires are still new, didn't happen to get the road hazard warranty stuff did you?

Nope. I haven't ruined a tire in a long time on one of my trucks (my wife does pretty regularly on her car/SUV) so I cheaped out on the warranty. I think I will have the local tire guy try to fix it Monday, if he says he can't, I will call Discount up and say I need to purchase the road hazard. I will then show up Tuesday with a mysteriously ruined tire.

They probably won't give it to you at this point, and if they do it may not go into effect for 30-60 days.

I have bought the warranty after the fact before, just never tried to use it soon after purchase. If they won't patch it, I will probably just plug it and call it a day if it holds air.

Your choice of course, but personally I will not trust just a plug except in an absolute emergency. The proper way to do a repair is with both a patch and a plug. The plug seals the hole and prevents moisture from getting into the belts of the tire and corroding the steel belts, leading to failure later, and the patch seals the leak.

Got both trucks fueled up and ready for the snow. Loaded up the usual emergency gear in each, recovery straps, shovels, flares, chains, etc., made sure the trailer with the generator and the snow blower is ready to go, packed my "go" kit and set it by the door and charged up the batteries in all the portable radios and other equipment.

If the EmComm team gets activated by the county I can be on the road in 10 minutes.
