Remote start, need some help! - 2008 Acadia

Our 08 Acadia is now having issues when we use the remote start. When you remote start and then go to unlock it with the key fob it will not unlock. I tried both key fobs and same thing. I even went back into the DIC and set everything up to factory specs but it still does the same thing.

I've ruled out the engine oil, that isn't a contributing factor.

Has anyone else had issues with their GM product with remote start or key fob for that matter?

Im not too familiar with the factory GM remote starts. But my brother had an 07 impala with one. He said you could not unlock the doors until you shut off the remote start, it was a PITA.

Seems like a programming issue to me

It will not do anything from the Key Fob once you remote start it, No unlock, no shut off nothing.

It just started happening a few weeks now. Like it seemed to be getting worse. I don't see how the key fob batteries could be an issue but I figure that is the next move to get new ones and see what happens.

It is a pain in the ass when I'm trying to get our special needs daughter into the car but can't open the doors with the remote and have to unlock it with the key. I guess until we figure it out I'll have to go out and manually start it.

I have never had that issue with either of mine, nor have I ever had to shut off the truck from a remote start to unlock the doors.

Definitely needs a trip to the dealer for some programming.

I was hoping it wouldn't have to go in for that since it is out of warranty but figured something happened and it needs to be reprogrammed.
