I'm an Airframe and Power plant tech. with an airline, have been in aviation for 27 years, lets talk torque wrenches, what kills torque wrenches, not returning the wrench back to the lowest setting after use, and dropping the torque wrench, we use both Snap On, and Craftsman, IMO they are equal, except in price...also, we have to have ours calibrated every year.

I cannot argue 27 years of experience - especially when I admittedly don't know a whole lot about it. :tmc: Thanks for the knowledge!

Not knowing a whole lot about them myself yet, I've just been reading online as that's what I'm trying to get my folks to buy me for Christmas. The issue with the latest batch of Craftsman torque wrenches seem to be the handle slipping and thus losing it's accuracy with some folks reporting this happens after just one or two uses. I understand that dropping it, treating it like a ratchet, etc will make it lose calibration.

MY shop got broken into about 5 years ago. They stole 20 years of collecting tools!
I had a ton of money invested in Snap-On stuff !
Most all of my tools are Wright tools. I didnt replace the snap" rip me off" tools.
SK, Wright, Williams, Craftsman, ect..., It's all pretty good stuff.
No need to wast your money on the Snap-on truck because that shit wont make you anymore money than anything else will.
Take wright tools for example, I have sockets of anything you can emagine. Never broke one, never had any trouble with them. They cost 1/3 of the Snap-On stuff and do the same job.
I have hired young guy's that wast their money on the tool truck, but dont know what to do with those tools. Pretty tool dont get anything done arond here.
Snap-on air tools, your getting screwed even worse! Snap-on doesnt make their air tools or their electronic stuff. Ingersal Rand, CP, Fluke, and OTC makes that stuff. Your just paying more because it has the Snap-On name on it.
Money doesnt come easy, Dont wast it!

My dad has alot of Snap-On tools, and some Craftsman, having wrenched on them both, I'm just as satisfied with the Craftsman.

I thought Kobalt tools were made by Snap On?

I would go either route, Craftsman or Kobalt, both have a lifetime warranty.
