I've never heard of the cooling sensor causing idle issues like that...

But I suppose it's possible, since it will idle itself higher when it's really cold :dunno:

Hopefully the coolant sensor is the problem!
The coolant sensor would make sense if it did have a high idle when cold, but if there is one, its only like 100-200rpm. We haven't hit any colder weather yet, but we'll see what happens. And for $14, its worth a shot. :dunno:

I'll see if my Haynes manual has a vacuum diagram in it for ya.
I'll double check my Chilton (both are made by the same company) manual right now just to be sure.

The auto parts stores would probably be a waste of time if you don't have any codes set. They might be able to tell you if the blinker fluid is low though.:jester:

I kid, I kid!
 I've actually had good luck with AZ reading codes. For the extra 5mi drive, I might as well do it out of piece of mind.

And they do it for free!

Even my GM dealers don't do mobile computer reading... Which is what I need to find my issues
I guess we both need a tissue for our issues

Mine just usually idles at 1100 RPM or so when it's cold, and usually for less than 5 seconds...

Then I guess mine's fine then.

Aren't we all. :tmc:

If I unplug the EGR, will that tell me if it is good or bad? But I'm thinking that it would act just like the IAC did when I unplugged it.

That's not what the thread notification email I have says

Take the offer Matt!

If it does mobile scanning, it's hella good for tracking down issues
I know a guy in town that has a computer thingy that I used on my Silverado and could read real-time data while I drove.

I just gave him a call to see if his computer could be used as a scanning tool. If his can't, I'll probably have to take you up on the offer Scott!

Talked to the guy I know in town and he said I can borrow his. All I know is it is a Nemisys. I've used it before and it is a very nice unit. I'll get it from him next week. Right now I'm drooling over these on the internets.

Quick Q:
Can I remove, clean, and re-install my EGR?
