High speed low drag.
ok well found out the 2004r is a wek tranny. Found out the 350 and 400 use the same input shaft and when a powerglide is upgraded they put a 350 input shaft in it. With the 400 vs the 350 you'll lose a little on the gas mileage and yes they are a little stronger than the 350 but considering the conversion over to a 400 with having to go with a diff. yoke and having to have shaft rebalanced...the conversion from a 350 to a 400 is not worth it. The 350 can be upgraded to handle somewhere in the neigbourhood of 600hp and the input shaft can handle it esp. since that same shaft is used in a 400 which not a lot of people know and a 400 is rated around 400-450lbs of torque stock. Heard guys out at the vally are using 350 with that shaft...and doing wheels and 600hp and not breaking them. Heck what i know im not a tranny guy just going by hear say. I just am trying to gather my info before applying my knowledge...Sounds like i'll just have the 350 built and put a stall converter in it. Any input out there would be appheciated-all tranny guys don't have the same opion in this so id like to hear all sides-we all would. Please nobody be offended...
