I am looking to get a tool box for my '04. I want a chest type that doesn't mount up on the rails, I want the concealment factor. :ninja: I have a UWS ,blue single lid ,on my farm truck. It has taken a beating and still works flawlessly. I am leaning towards them, but am open to a different manufacturer. I plan to install a compressor, 1/5 gal tank, inverter, and misc tools in it. So it nees to be pretty spacious, as well as secure.

If I cant find a good chest type, I'll get the one that sits on the rails. I have seen a few that have the railing on top. This is an added bonus, because I can put several square bails of hay on them when I tow my horses. The drawback, is having to move the hay off when I need to get in it.

Any other manufactures make a box that is similiar, I will consider them. Also where would be a good place on the internets to order from, if I go that route.

*edit* Almost forgot, I have a goosneck hitch in the bed, so the box cant be too too big. Its the CC with the SWB, 6.5' bed.

UWS isn't bad stuff... especially for the price.

RK or Weatherguard are better built but pricey. They offer a huge variety of sizes too.

Thanks, that was another one I liked, but could not remember the name. I really like their quality, especially the feature of protecing the latches and struts. IIRC, they alread had provisions to run electrical connections to the box.

I've never owned any of them.

You can get discounts on the Weatherguard stuff... no worries about what the retail prices are. Sometimes you do get what you pay for though.

I have a UWS chest tool box in my silvy and love it! IMO for the price it is well built and very spacious. My favorite thing about it is how strong the lid is, I set the front tires of the quad and no damage. My buddies tried doing the same and now have two big indentations on their boxes...haha.

Rawson Koenig makes quality stuff, I have owned several of their toolboxes. I still have one sitting in my storage building that I took off of my 2500 HD. Bullet proof stuff, very well made.
