Tire Dilemma

I have heard that about the Rugged Trails (never owned them), but the Long Trail TOURING tires are great highway tires, Dennis.

Momma has them on the Tahoe, and damn, they are freakin' smooth, and quiet. She just got back from her second raod trip in 3 months to Montana, and this time got in the snow on the pass coming back. She said they were awesome! She is pretty damn picky about her tires in the snow

Jeff, I don't think you will find a bad thing anywhere about BFG T/As. I wish you luck man!

True... As a highway and light snow tire, they're pretty good... But on ice, or anything remotely close to wet dirt...

Though, the regular Long Trails are all I've ever driven... Maybe they're the older version?

what ever you get you need to consider one thing...self cleaning treads....no matter the tire or tread..if it does not self clean it will get gummed up and get no traction..look for a self cleaning tread design when you pick..it is of the upmost importance....

hey man, im taking my stock tires off in december. they will be at my parents house while im still overseas. they still have good tread on them. ill hold on to them for a while. if your interested

I love my BFG A/T's... They're a great all-terrain tire...

They steamroll pretty good, and don't clean easy in the mud (this is what makes them good on snow, though...) but a little extra throttle helps out

To get the max mileage out of the BFG A/T's you HAVE to rotate them at every oil change...

I've seen a few people claim 100k miles

The thing I like the most about my BFG's on the street/snow/ice, is they're consistant and predictable. They always handle it the surfaces the same way.

On my truck, I've yet to get stuck... And I've been buried up to the body in mud

For me, they're a little soft when it comes to cornering... But I also have a lot of sidewall... You'll only really notice it under hard driving conditions, if the roads are dry.

Try Costco for the BFG's if you're considering them... They were the cheapest around here by like $300 - $400


Oh... And Rugged Trails and Long Trails SUCK!

I don't have a Costco around us , I like the look of them for the most part. I don't like the fact that they gum up in Mud though. I want something that looks semi aggressive though.

i have general grabber at/2s on my winter rims and they are 33s and i love the tires just got a snow storm that dropped ten inches and my transfer case went out and made it home in 2wd with no problem, tires a cheaper and are great in mud and snow. got mine for 680 for all 4 and they are 285-75-16
