I know a lot of guys running Duratracs and love them.

I would pass on the Maxxis, I haven't heard very good things about the DDability of them. For a truck that is seeing mostly pavement I would choose something else.

I've owned 8 sets and have gotten 70,000 miles out of a set of 33's.....Mostly highway to. Don't kid yourself they are better and cheaper than Duratracs:loser:

"Better" is subjective. I have owned 3 sets of Maxxis Buckshot Mudders. This is all I ran on my off-road Jeeps. In the mud, and doing what I did with them, I would say yes they definitely cleaned out better.

On my F150, I had a terrible experience with them, with the cords seperating. Was a wierd deal.

I am not here to piund my chest about anything, I have owned so many damn different sets of tires. This is my first set of the Duratracs, and for running mostly highway, they do great. I know one damn thing for sure, they aren't nearly as noisy as the Maxxis. They do great offroad too.

I looked and found a set of BFG A/Ts KOs in 275/70/18, for $930 shipped with a warranty for the tires ($102 or $25.50 a piece)

Not bad honestly, to have a warranty with them too, I know Jake has experienced a warranty with his and said he was impressed IIRC.

Duratracs in 275/65/18 are $246 a piece and the come out to $1,119 after the warranty, yet if I buy before next week I'll get a $80 rebate  (Not ready to buy)

IDK, maybe the BFG A/Ts aren't that bad, I know guys get ridiculous amounts of miles out of them. My buddy's dad got 65,000 miles out of his set on his old 99 F150 back in the day

I love my BFG A/T's... They're a great all-terrain tire...

They steamroll pretty good, and don't clean easy in the mud (this is what makes them good on snow, though...) but a little extra throttle helps out

To get the max mileage out of the BFG A/T's you HAVE to rotate them at every oil change...

I've seen a few people claim 100k miles :dunno:

The thing I like the most about my BFG's on the street/snow/ice, is they're consistant and predictable. They always handle it the surfaces the same way.

On my truck, I've yet to get stuck... And I've been buried up to the body in mud

For me, they're a little soft when it comes to cornering... But I also have a lot of sidewall... You'll only really notice it under hard driving conditions, if the roads are dry.

Try Costco for the BFG's if you're considering them... They were the cheapest around here by like $300 - $400

Oh... And Rugged Trails and Long Trails SUCK!
