Hey guys, so my dad's wanting to get some new tires and wheels before the snow flies. He was just going to get tires, as the stock goodyears aren't doing to hot anymore with only 27K on them:uhoh:. But anyway, since the stock 17's are getting a little ate up from the salt and what not, he's probably going to get some new rims also. I need some help with determining what rim specs and tire specs. to go with.

His truck is an 08 GMC CCSB with stock 265/17's and a 2" Leveling kit.

1. Tires
Stock 265/70/17's, want to upgrade to a either a 285/70/17, or the equivilent in 18" rims. What would the equivilent, or the closest that will still fit with the leveling kit? New tires with probably be Zeon LTZ's or Toyo Open Country A/T's

2. Rims.
NOT BLACK. Looking for either a 17" or 18", not sure yet. What would offset/backspacing should I shoot for in each size. Probably a 17X8 or 18X9?
I've been looking at the Eagle 050's, in the Super Finish, which is a machine with black inlay.

Probably looking to stay away from chrome, but PW it up all you want, the more choices the better.
We'd like to get these bought/ordered pretty soon before the snow flies.
Thanks in advance guys.

I wouldn't buy a new set of custom wheels and run them in the winter,Why ruin a new set of wheels :dunno: I would use and run the stock rims for the winter, then use the custom wheels in the spring/summer.

Check his stock tire size again, should be a 265/70R17 (not 265/75R17)
A 265/65R18 would be the same size in an 18" tire.

Yeh, we discussed that, and that may be an option of getting new 285/17's now and getting rims in the spring, but he kinda wants to get it all done in one shot.

I understand,I just can't see spending all that money for nice wheels and then ruining them by running them in the salt.
Can he afford to get a new set of tires now,and then buy the wheels and another set of tires in the Spring? You know, have two complete sets of wheels/tires so he can just swap them out for the Winter, thats what I do (Of course I actually have three sets of wheels/tires!)
Oh don't forget,he'll need new TPMS sensors,or at least new valve stems for his existing ones.

Ok, well we did some more talking, and it looks like it will be 18" rims with a 285/65/18 tire.
Now we are considering the cooper zeon ltz's but it appears that they are only made in a 275/70/18 which is a fuzz taller, but skinnier. Can anyone confirm this?

Any body have any other reccomendations for wheels??

I know the 275/70's are made in other brands, I just wanted to know if that was the only Zeon available for an 18" rim
