I was wondering how long stock shocks actually last? I am approaching 74K on the odometer and my shocks are still stock. I have started to notice when I hit decent size bumps in the road that it feels like my bumper is going to fall off, and I get some bed bounce like crazy. Also, wondering if its possible to put those height adjustable shocks on with a leveling kit? Thanks for any input.

I have almost 92,000 on my 2006 Chevy 1500...still on the original stock shocks.
They are OK ...so far.
No bouncing, but it is only driven on the highway...never off road.

If yours is bouncing ... you need new ones...

I'd love to spend money on something really good, but right now I don't have the extra money to be doing that. So im looking for an average priced shock and a good quality.

I've never gotten over 50K out of stock shocks... but I like to upgrade stuff.
