i want to do 4.56 (im a 2wd) but larry gave me all of his old stuff for free and since i have a mechanic shop i do everything myself

his old carrier had like 10k miles on it, mine has 70k so i would assume the clutches in his old carrier are better then the ones i have now

Update:

Finally broke down and have been shaking down my truck. I have not been impressed generally. I doesn't take as much effort for the truck to get up to cruising speed, but 0-60 time have remained more or less the same. Best time I managed to strain out was a 7.9, it used to be around 8.5 with the 3.55's. I think I should have put that $1200 towards a 5.4 short block.

I'm going to have the shop dyno it to see if it's abnormally low on power or something. I've long had my eye on the 2.25" true duals that I went with. If there is anything hindering performance that I have done, I'm betting on the exhaust.

How are you timing it? I've been using my Gryphon, which I'm also skeptical if it did anything in terms of performance because there is still throttle lag.

Something has got to be wrong with your truck as a 7.9 0-60 on the gryphon is not right at all with that gearing. I can not see the 4.6 being that much of a dog even with tunes! I have 3.73 gearing and 35's I can cut a 0-60 in 7 secs. Had custom tunes, S&B Intake, flowmaster 40 series 2 into 1 with 2.25" piping, EFANS, and under drive pulleys.

Maybe the 0-60 test on the Gryphon isn't that accurate. I calibrated everything and my speedo is only off by like 2 MPH high. What is everyone using to measure their 0-60 times?
