The wheels and body make it look like a saturn Ion. Only thing different is the front end. Not my cup of tea but I'm sure it's only a matter of time until they start getting fart cans and a new swarm of pissed off mosquitoes hatches.

This is a pre-production test mule. It won't look anything like that.
But anyways, the Civic is a damn good car. We bought an '02 brand new that has put up with tons of abuse. Has about 200,000KM on it, and we just got the engine replaced due to it over heating.
I've been driving this car around for the past two days:
It's pretty sweet! Comfortable, good gas mileage, some neat features, and looks pretty good IMO. I'm pretty sure Honda won't come out with an ugly design since the Civic is one of the best selling cars.

Honda will sell the hell out of their new Civic whether we like it or hate it. There are TONS of buyers who will be happy to snag a reliable and highly efficient new car from Honda that comes with great resale value.
