I have a 95 ford f-150 with the hood springs from hell. If you open the hood to much the part of the spring that is suppose to stop it at a certain point gets off to the side. When you go to slam it close you don't accomplish anything except bending the hood.

I was careful with it to where it didn't look bad but when I put it in the shop they were not and now there is about a half inch gap between my hood and the side of the truck. pretty much looks like the hood is just bowed.

My dad had the same problem with is and a guy fixed it for him like brand new, that was like 5 years ago so he has no clue how the guy did it.

All i want to do is have the hood sit flush with the sides and not look so jacked up.

Anyone know of a way to fix this? I have tried google but didn't get anywhere.

I would post a picture but my camera is currently dead. If you don't understand what I am trying to say I can go take on here in a bit after the battery charges.

The hinges are probably binding. They rust internally and make it hard for them to flex. WD40 the hell out of them everywhere two pieces of metal touch or move together.

I don't think there is much you can do once the hood is bent to fix it. But doing what Zembonez said will help with further damage.
I have the same problem with my mud truck because of all the water and mud it sees.
Just gotta be real careful until I get the money for the new fiberglass hood. :D

FIXED :D

is the hood only (bent) close to the springs? or where? i know if it's real close to the top like said theres not much to do. It's way to stiff that close to try and bent it back out.

That is what the hood looks like on both sides.
