I guess the first "mod" on my truck will be window tint. I was planning on getting it installed professionally but I saw Dans post about the do it yourself kit he bought so I figured I'd try my hand. If it works I have $25 tinted windows, if not I'm only out $25 and will have learned that I can't tint. Either way for the price I have to try. Ordered a kit for my truck tonight, going 20% on all 3 windows. Work next weekend so it won't go on until the weekend after but I will post pictures once it's on. Don't count on a write up, it would end up more of a what not to do situation.

It's vital that you follow the instructions that come with the tint. Any shortcuts will end in disaster. If you follow the instructions, you'll have about a 25% chance of not ending on disaster.

I hate tinting. I leave it to the pros.

Maybe I'll order 4 right away, then one of them has to work

Actually I am picking on you a little. Some people seem to just have a talent for tint and some don't. I'm certainly in the don't category. Let us know how it works out.

For 25 bucks, it sounds well worth a try.

That's pretty much what I figured. I don't have a talent for much so I'm giving myself at least 99% odds that it ends in disaster but again for $25 I won't be too picky about the results as long as it's half way ok until I can afford to get it professionally done.

Plus this will be my first time actually having tinted front windows so I want to test the cops before I sink much money in it. It's not a huge deal, I'm a paramedic so I can always get a special paramedic license plate which is pretty much a get out of jail free card but I don't like people knowing that the guy driving like a jackass is a paramedic.

I did my windows, I had never done it before either. I would recommend doing it inside if at all possible wind is a real bitch. It's not really that hard to do you just need lots of soapy water and a good squeegee.
