Money is the root of a LOT of decisions. I originally wanted a crew cab silvy. When I was looking for one, I simply could not find one under 20k that was either beat to hell or had over 100k miles on it.
I found my Burban for 15 with only 52k miles on it. I thought about how much I would actually use a truck bed, and decided on settling for the burban. I have actually more interior room than a crew cab truck, I can still tow the same, and I can fold down my seats and still haul large objects as long as they arent too tall to fit in. With my seats folded down I can fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood in there and close the back door. The only real drawback of an SUV as oppossed to a truck is you can't haul dirty , muddy or bloody things in an SUV without ruing the carpet. You can hose out the bed of a truck.
