So do I just tell them I have the 145 amp alt. and the v8 and they will figure out the length?
Or just take the number off the existing belt and cross reference

I would but I am upgrading alternators, so it will be a longer belt, I just know how long...
Naw, electric fans on my '06. Now I know what kind of PIA it can be. My '01 had a mechanical fan.J did you have to remove your fan shroud, I assume you did cause I as hell had to! PIA the first time but next time will be a lot easier....

Those extra hands made it a piece of cake. It's been a while and I may have been doing the clutch at the same time and it was an 8.1 liter.Naw, electric fans on my '06. I didn't have to remove the shround on my 01
The way the belt is routed sround the pulleys, I ended up not having to put the belt over the fan. I just followed the pully diagram and it took me less than 7 or 8 minutes to change my belt. The only PITA for me was that the belt didn't wanna sit on the pullys right. It kept trying to go back to its "folded" shape from the way the belt was folded when I bought it. Luckily I had my son nearby and I told him to just "Hold this right here and dont let go".Those extra hands made it a piece of cake.
