I don't think asking us is the best thing for you and I say this because Dodge owners are one of kind just the same way Ford guys like fords and Chevy guys like Chevy's...

Most of the Chevy guys will tell you to get a Chevy as will most of the Ford guys...

You should try looking at this way... if You bought the Chevy would you regret not trying the Dodge... if You bought the Dodge would regret not getting the Chevy..... I try to go by these decisions by determining which I would regret more....

The best thing about it is we are here for you no matter which truck you by....

I experienced a similar issue. When. I was looking for a new truck I primarily wanted a gas 2500hd thinking I would not be able to get a dmax. .. they had both trucks sitting side by side with a 10k price difference.... I knew I would not regret buying the dmax but I knew that I would always be kicking myself if I decided on the Gasser.....

The new Dodges are the first Dodge trucks I have really cared for in years. They have done a good job with them. You would still have a hard time getting me in one though.

-4 wheel discs (Rear drums on Chevy) Available but you have to step up to the 6.2
-Rear wheel well liner (No liner on Chevy) GM has them, its just a $100 option
-Auto-dimming interior and side mirrors (manual mirror now unless you get LTZ?) Really, I thought it was optional on the LT
-Power fold in mirrors with turn signals Again, did they remove this as an option
-Quad cab actually has a B pillar so the doors shut and seal better than the ext cab on the Chevy.
-Console shifter This is actually a minus in my books. I want to use that space
-Dual straight-tipped exhaust Again, to me a minus. I don't want dimples in my bumper in-case I want to change my exhaust
-Rear coil over springs meh
-5.7L Hemi paired to a 5spd tranny (390hp/407ft/lb) 6.2=403hp with a 6sp
-1 year free Sirius (only 3 months on the Chevy)

Have you considered looking at Certified pre-owned? Or looking out of state for a 6.2?

I agree with who ever said drive them both. I also ask to take them on an extended test drive. I do this before I pull the trigger on any vehicle. Most dealers will (around here anyway) let you take them over night or at least for a few hours.

As a car buyer and speaking strictly from a resale value point of view. The Chevy wins hands down. Unless you keep the Dodge for 5-7 years, you will lose big time when you go to trade or sell. This is not my opinion and is no reflection on the reliability of the Dodge, but I've seen it at the auctions a million times.

Yeah it is a tough one to decide on but if I were in your position I would definitely have second thoughts and go with GM.

Well, my soul purpose would be cause of the modifications that would follow right after purchase. Not saying that Chrysler can't be modified but seems like GM has way more abundant ways for modifications.

That is what I was thinking too if you plan on modifying your vehicle.

Why not also consider a Ford? Better resale than the Dodge and options a plenty.

I looked at the Ford - nice truck, but to get it equipped the way I want, it gets pricy really fast. The 4.6 and 5.4's seemed sluggish to me.

The 5.4 are sluggish. Until you put duel exhaust and a CIA on it  Mine sure improved on HP and response once I did that. I want it tuned, but not until the warranty runs out.
