Managed to make Ardmore Oklahoma this afternoon on my trek through Oklahoma and meet up with great folks from TMC! It was really nice to put some faces with some names!

66Nova (Robert), Darkanion (Michael), Texas Jim (Jim), stw08sierra (Roger), Embonez (Emily my wife), & Zembonez (me) all met up at the oldest continuous operating drag strip in the world (since 1954!).

Also along for the ride were Jim and Roger's gracious wives and Roger's two cool boys who guarded the truck and were quite the little gentlemen.

Jim ran the Caddy (as some of you have seen) I swear I heard Elvis on the radio as he swooshed by. That bid ole Caddy was flyin! Here is one of the mid flight pictures. One thing I thought was cool was that EVEREBODY watched the caddy when it ran.

If you ever see this group of people... move to the other side of the street. They could be up to no good! :jester:

Yes I am only joking.

Wind? What wind... Emily fought the wind all afternoon. Roger is now holding up the fence.

Roger and the boys. His boss was there too (She's wearing pink in pic number two)

All of these Truck Mod Central people and three of us showed up in cars! (Roger and Robert brought actual trucks)

Robert's Nova with Roger apparently holding the door shut. Robert appears to be trying to escape.

Robert heads out for another pass. The frikkin Nova is just as badass in person as it is in pictures boys n girls! Robert and his dad have done outstanding work here. You should hear it in person too. It certainly rocks!

How cool is it that the track has bales of hay AND oil wells on it? It actually has a couple of pump jacks running on the South end!

That Shoebox was sweet. One of Robert (and his dad's) friends. It was no slouch either!

I'm sure Robert will be posting up his times.

Here are Jim's Caddy results!

Well... reckon I will post some results of todays time trials...

The Caddy is real consistant in times and speeds.
The one major problem it has is the little 4.6 engine moving alnost 2.5 tons from a dead stop.....
It is either doggy off the line...if you just kinda "ROLL INTO IT"..but if you nail it "HARD" taking off...you get wheelspin and wheelhop.
Neither one is good. :(

Here are the results of several runs...

15.80...88.97
15.72...89.16
15.62...91.54
15.60...91.65
15.59...91.67

I got a little bit better at getting it off the line as the day went on and I had a little more practice.
This is the "FIRST TIME" it has ever been to a 1/4 mile track... and it has been close to "TWENTY YEARS" since "I" have been to a 1/4 nile track.....

Now to figure out who was closest in their guess...:dunno:
