Need Help ASAP - truck electrical issues

Yeh, thanks for the help Scotty, they did have the wire wrapped, but they must have pulled the harness down, and it was sitting on that plate, and eventually ran through.

Also Scotty now when I use my 2 way remote and press the f unlock, which should "silently" unlock it, the horn chirps once after the parking lights flash 3 times. Then the remote beeps twice several times and then quits. Do you have any idea what that means? I'm a little PO'd at BB, and they are 45 mins. away, and I don't want to take it there if I don't have to.

I've installed hundreds of alarms, remote starts, and steros. But as far as the features of each product, I honest don't know. You can search for a manual for your particular alarm and look up all the different specs and options. A lot of installers don't even give the customer the paperwork after they complete the install. A LOT of alarms have available features that the customer doesn't even know about since they didn't read the owners or installation manuals. And a lot of those features don't require any additional labor, just some programming sequences to turn the feature on. For instance, some unit can do silent arm and disarm, some can chirp the horn in addittion to a siren. Some units can turn on the domelight upon disarming (although that feature usually rquires hooking up at least one extra wire, possibly a relay).

What brand and Model arm/remote start do you have? I'm assuming Viper since thats BestBuys main brand. Try searching for some manuals on google. Also, go look at www.the12volt.com. You can post the same question there in the forums and I'm sure a Viper installer can help you. There are a lot of installers on those forums, I've been a member for years but haven't been on there lately since I haven't been doing many installs recently.

I have the Viper 5301, also what I don't get is, the 1 way remote doesn't do that.

yep, it works fine, that's why I was curious. I was wandering if it was like a code, that it had been unhooked, or messed with?

I would call BestBuy They warranty all their work, so make them honor it. I'm wondering if the ign wire shorting out caused any other problems. I'd have them look it over just in case. I know its a drive, but try to make a trip out of it, like is there anything else in that area you need to go do or go shopping?

yeh, I think I'll make an appointment for this weekend, and they're connected to the mall, so I guess I'll go inspectigate some new boots that I need.
