It's amazing what a difference traction, and two functioning knock sensors will make at the track.
Last time out, I ran a 14.75 @ 93, with a 2.14 60'.
Tonight, I was able to make 8 passes, with the truck set up exactly the same except for a couple things:
1. Replaced both knock sensors
2. Dropped the air pressure about 5 psi in the front, and 10 in the rear.
3. Had about a 50/50 mix of 92 and 87 octane, instead of straight 87 (I doubt that did anything, though
).
Both times I ran with the spare tire and jack removed, junk removed from under the rear seat, and everything else was how I drive it every day.
First run:
14.202 @ 95.03 with a 2.014 60'
Second run (some failed experimentation went on here):
14.637 @ 93.65 with a 1.993 60'
Third run:
14.143 @ 95.29 with a 1.974 60'
Fourth run:
14.071 @ 95.29 with a 1.961 60'
Fifth run (I think I may have let off a little early by accident):
14.288 @ 93.87 with a 1.981 60'
Sixth, and best run:
14.048 @ 95.14 with a 1.944 60'
Seventh run:
14.062 @ 94.85 with a 1.943 60'
Eighth run (truck was still hot from the previous run, never even shut off):
14.251 @ 94.55 with a 1.997 60'
Overall, I'm fucking ecstatic with the times. Judging by the looks and questions I was getting, almost breaking into the 13s with an ext. cab 4x4 truck on mud tires doesn't happen often.
Once I ditch the blowmaster and dual 2.25" bullshit, I think I should be able to squeak into the 13s.
