Why buy new when you can restore?
Sorry to bring this one back, but if and when you do install it, make sure you don't put it too high! I did. It turns out the tailgate sticks down farther while opening it and when open than it does when it is closed. I've had to modify the holes on the bar itself. Made them taller (not wider since the holes also keep it centered and provide support) to the bar so it sits lower. I'm still rubbing a little in 4 spots, but I'm going to take and make the holes a little bigger.
I took it off for the winter, but when it goes back on, I have to do some new wiring. A friend installed the round 5/6 pin connector to support trailer brakes. I need to make my own Y-connector to interface with the wiring that's already there. A company sells one, but it splits into 4 connectors (only need 2) and costs $20.
They are very nice, but take patience and time when installing.

do it, it will add some visibility too, for those idiots that don't pay attention and lock up their brakes trying to avoid from hitting you

if you have red turn signals - its easy
if you have amber turn signals (1999-2003) - there's only 1 or 2 out there.
It just looks bad when they don't match.
It's definitely cool to see the white light up.
Everyone's got the red, but not everyone had the white!

I like the look of the white and red. hopefully it'll give my truck some bling! 
but i'm gonna run a 4 pin plug to bar itself. whenever i haul a trailer, i'll plug the trailer into the connector. no sense in having the bar light up when ya can't see it
